Individual Adult Counseling

I specialize in working with adults encountering a difficult time, whether that be divorce, grief and loss, fertility issues, interpersonal relationship issues, or other life impacting events Ie.g. career changes, changes within the family, moving). I also work with individuals who are experiencing feelings of depression or anxiety.

Depending on you and the issues you want to address, we will discuss the best treatment approaches for you. That being said, all work will be done with compassionate support in an empowering environment and without judgement. The goal of therapy, I hope, is to empower you to appropriately deal with life events, reduce stress, experience personal growth, and make well-informed, rational decisions. I also hope therapy will allow for increased feelings of self worth, an ability to set and obtain goals, an increased satisfaction with personal relationships and ultimately led to a more fulfilling life.

Therapy is a joint adventure in which we will work collaboratively to help you achieve your goals and address the issues you present. This may mean for some that we meet for a short time while for others it may mean longer term work. Typically, we will meet once per week, but since therapy is not a once size fits all endeavor, this will be something we discuss initially and throughout to ensure your needs are being met.

Child and Adolescent Counseling

** I am currently not seeing children or teens in my practice**

I see children and adolescents ages 3-17 for a variety of issues including, trauma, divorce, grief and loss, behavioral issues, and other life altering events. For me to understand what is occurring with our child, I will first set up an appointment to discuss with ou what your concerns are what you hopes are for counseling for your child.

Following that session, I will meet with your child individually with check ins from time to time with you. I work with children from a child centered perspective meaning we (the child and I) work at the pace of the child; focusing on the needs and issues the child presents and allowing the child to have power within his or her own change process. I believe in creating a safe and trusting space for kids to explore issues while giving them the tools to express themselves and work through the presenting issues. It is in this relationship where true changes can occur.
